Set Design

Research

Our video is entirely studio based so we looked at our influential videos to see how they dressed the set in their videos. Our main influences were The 1975 - 'Girls' and 'Love Is On The Radio' by McFly. They had very simple sets with the band performing in front of amps.

The 1975 - Girls
McFly - Love Is On The Radio

However, our band is a three-piece so we did some research into how three-piece bands are positioned in a performance setup.

Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know

Blink 182 - Up All Night

Green Day - Basketcase
Biffy Clyro - Mountains

We found that generally, the guitarist and bassist are positioned side-by-side in front of the drummer. If there is a lead singer they are placed slightly in front of the bassist, for example in the Green Day video.

Our Set

We have decided on two types of set, one for the performance and one for the props. The props set will be empty and the performance set up is shown below. Gavin will be playing the drums in between two amps. Kayvon and Alice will be playing the guitar and bass in front of him. Kayvon is positioned slightly further forward as he is the lead.
